Vendée Railway

The Vendée Railway is a tourist train that runs on a former railway line between Mortagne-sur-Sèvre and Les Herbiers , in Vendée. It offers visitors an immersion in the atmosphere of 19th-century train travel, including an iconic steam locomotive.
History and characteristics
- This railway was inaugurated at the end of the 19th century to link several Vendée towns, thus facilitating the transport of goods and passengers.
- The line ceased its commercial operation in the 1970s, but thanks to the "Chemin de Fer de la Vendée" association, it was rehabilitated for tourism.
- The journey is approximately 22 km , between Mortagne-sur-Sèvre and Les Herbiers.
