City of Birds

The Cité des Oiseaux is a bird sanctuary located in Vendée, between Les Landes-Genusson and La Gaubretière. It is a protected natural area, ideal for birdwatching and discovering the local flora and fauna.

• The City of Birds covers 56 hectares , with a great diversity of natural environments: ponds, wet meadows and moors .
• It is located on an important migratory axis , which makes it a privileged reception area for many species of birds throughout the year.
• There are two bodies of water , allowing you to observe water birds and enjoy a peaceful setting.

• More than 210 species of birds have been recorded on the site, including herons, storks, ducks, birds of prey and waders .
• Observation posts are set up to observe the birds without disturbing them.
• Depending on the season, you can witness migratory passages and observe rare species.
